Seduction and Snacks

Claire is a twenty-something, single mom that grudgingly helps her best friend sell sex toys while she attempts to make enough money to start her own business to give her foul-mouthed, but extremely loveable (when he's asleep) toddler a better life.
When Carter, the one-night-stand from her past that changed her life forever, shows up in her hometown bar without any recollection of her besides her unique chocolate scent, Claire will make it a point that he remembers her this time.
With Carter's undisguised shock at suddenly finding out he has a four-year-old son and Claire's panic that her stretch marks and slim to none bedroom experience will send the man of her dreams heading for the hills, the pair will do whatever they can to get their happily ever after.
Warning: contains explicit sex, profanity and enough sarcasm to choke a horse.

Ok so Christina and I both need a really good funny read, and boy did she pick a good one. Autumn, from Autumn Review was raving about this book and well Christina decided it was time we read it. Not only was this book hilarious, I mean bust out laughing and crying hilarious, but it was sweet and majorly sexy as well.

So Claire, a sarcastic “good girl” that is so my type of girl. I can totally relate to her in so many ways. Well her roommate and best friend Liz talks her into going to a Phrat party, a party that will change her life. Why you ask, well these guys come up to them and she notices this one guy around the time a girl named, Niki pushes her into this mysterious guy that has captured her attention when he quotes a phrase from her favorite movie. A few games of beer pong and many laughs later, Claire finds herself waking up in the arms of said guy. Her Virgin card has been cashed in by a guy whose name she doesn’t know…. One night stands are ok right, well they are until you come up pregnant and have no clue the name of the guy you gave it up to. Spending months looking for the one night stand with no luck, Claire moves back home with her father.

Carter is waking up from a dream where he smells chocolate, opening his eyes to see that he’s completely alone, and is wondering if he dreamt the whole night. As he starts getting dressed he’s noticed his “Weiner” has blood on it and begins freaking out. With the help of his best friend Drew, he realizes the girl he just had sex with was a virgin. Wondering why she would give him something so special he feels guilty for the way it went down and wants to apologize, so he starts looking for her.

Four years later, Claire is working as a bartender and is raising her son Gavin. After being tricked into helping Liz sell “dildos” and do sex parties, Claire is running late for her shift.  Carter is sitting at the bar drinking his sorrows after being dragged out by Drew, you see Carter just caught his ex-cheating on him. When a breeze goes by him he smells a familiar smell that brings him back in time to 5 years ago and the one night stand he had with a girl he couldn’t forget. Claire doing was filling an order and turned around to look at the guy talking to his shot glass to see the eyes that haunt her every day. Carter works at the plant with Jim, Liz’s fiancĂ©, and after talking to him about the mystery girl from 5 years ago, Jim invites him and Drew over for dinner, a dinner Jim knew Claire would be attending.

Now I don’t want to give too much away, but you can’t deny the attraction between Claire and Carter at that dinner. Carter and Claire start getting to know each other after that night, but Carter can tell Claire is hiding something from him….does she tell him? Well coming to see Claire at her shop, Carter notices Gavin, and let me tell you Gavin is so damn adorable and has a mouth of a sailor! It’s cute so you can’t get too mad and frankly it’s hard as hell to keep a straight face. Well right when things start to get serious, Carter smells that same familiar smell from 5 years ago…… does he finally connect the dots? When Gavin walks back into the store and calls Claire mommy, does Carter realize that Gavin is his son?  Do Claire, Carter, and Gavin get a shot at being a family?

Go get the book to find out, trust me you will not be disappointed, Seduction and Snacks is by far the best book I’ve read this week!

-Dani

SO I TOTALLY Loved and Needed this book this week. I laughed so much reading this book. Claire is so sarcastic and I love it! The way she talked about having babies and that your Vagina looks like a Roast Beef Sandwhich after having a kid, cracked me up.

So Claire has a one night, drunken, stand with a guy that she does not know what his name is.  She basically gives him her virginity.  As she said... "Wraped it up in a pretty bow and handed it over".   At 20 she finds herself pregnant.  She does try to look for this mystery guy...... can't ever find him. She goes home and stays with her dad, who helps her raise her son.

Carter Can't remember if he slept with a girl or not. He just woke up with blood on his "manhood".  He freaks out a bit. He was pretty drunk too.  Bits and pieces come back to him but all he can remember is the beautiful girl that smelled like chocolate. He started looking for her right away too.

4 years pass and Claire is working back home in a bar.  Her dad helps her raise her son.  Her friend LIZ, lets just say I want a friend like her. She is engaged to a guy named Jim who is just as funny.  Claire's son (Carters too), Gavin is hilarious.  As a 4 year old he knows TOOOOOOO many bad words and things about life which make it so funny from a 4 year old perspective.  "Why is my wiener so big?" Yep that is just ONE of the many things he says.  This kid is hilarious.

We find that Carter and his friend Drew have moved to town and end up working at the same place as Jim.  Jim realizes WHO Carter is after he mentions a girl he slept with.  Jim invites them to dinner where Claire will be.  Claire knows who he is but it does take time for Carter to realize Claire is the girl he had searched for. You will see how the connection is made.  I love how Carter just jumps right in. (after a freak out week).

There are SO many quotes that I would love to post here but truly I would not get all the ones that made me laugh in.  I recommend you sit down, and read this awesome story!
