Out of the Ashes Review

Synopsis:
Out of the frying pan and into the fire…
Paige Hill is discovering who she is again after losing everything she loves in a tragic fire. She’s endured a long road to recovery with the help of her best fiend Gillian and is finally beginning her life again: college, a job, and a blossoming love she never even saw coming.
Clay Forbes is the notorious campus playboy. He’s a star athlete, a senior architecture major, and the only son in a family with power and money back in his hometown. When he crashes into Paige, his whole perspective on life shifts, and his world as he knew it becomes nonexistent. He’s wrapped up in her.
They’re both learning how to love, but Clay’s ex-girlfriend Hannah won’t make it easy for them. She puts a target on Paige’s back, and won’t stop until she’s derailed their budding romance once and for all. Who will be left standing after the ashes settle for the second time?

When Diana Gardin contacted us about reading her book Out of the Ashes, I was immediately intrigued and when I finally saw the cover I couldn’t wait to start the book. Needless to say I was not disappointed. I absolutely loved the story and though there’s a major cliffhanger, I saw it coming, I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in this series.
Paige Hill suffered a horrific tragedy and is now coming out of her shell to embrace life again. Running into a guy while she’s picking up her books for her college classes is the last thing she was expecting. To be attracted to said guy is something else entirely. Taking each day in small doses, she goes home and cracks open the books until her best friend Gillian drags her to a frat party.
Clay Forbes is the campus playboy, soccer star, and the last one expecting to run into a girl he can’t get out of his head. When he runs into a girl at the campuses book store she takes over his mind, but a party should clear that up right? Beer and hot girls to push out the thought of someone else, it works to push everything else out so why not?
The last person Paige thought she would run into is the hottie from the bookstore but there he is walking right over to her. When the girl from the bookstore walks back inside from the balcony it’s a sign right? Then Hannah walks through the door and things get ugly. You’ve seen possessive guys and possibly the movie Obsessed, well Hannah takes it to a new level.
Watching Paige and Clay fall in love is beautiful. They both hold secrets but slowly open up, and when they do is amazing. However Hannah won’t let Clay go so easily. She’s determined to break them up and will do whatever it takes. Clay tries to take care of it but ends up in trouble. Paige believes the story and set up Hanna hands her, then takes off after the news Gillian gives her. Gillian’s pissed and goes after Clay to see where Paige took off to, but Clay gets a surprise of his own. What’s the news that Gillian gave Paige for her to take off? What or who surprises Clay at the door?
This book leaves you with a cliffhanger that’s going to make you want the next book. I know it did me and I cannot wait for the next book to see how Clay and Paige’s story unfolds. GO grab this book now!

Out of the Ashes is a book that blew me out of the water.  Paige is trying to recover from burns and from loosing her family in a house fire.  I can even imagine what that would be like.  Her friend Gillian is brining her home with her to live.  They are the best of friends and Gillian has been there every step of the way for her.  Paige is excited to start school and get her life back.  But she struggles with her burn scars and the memories of the fire.  She runs into… literally a guy named Clay.  He’s the player on campus.  But Clay is taken with her and wants her.  Gillian knows him and advises him not to hurt her.  Clay finds that he is attracted to Paige more than any other girl and he wants just her.  To protect her and to love her.  He has a past though and he tries to keep it hidden.  Paige is trying to protect her heart.  She also doesn't think that most guys would accept her.  When she lets Clay in how will he react?  He loves her, that should tell you.  But when an ex from his past promises revenge, will it break them apart?  Let me tell you this chick is CRAZYYYY!!  And the book ends in a huge cliff hanger.
I Loved this book.  It was both emotional and heart warming.  It keeps you hooked and then stops you cold at that cliff hanger!  I need the next book like yesterday!
