When Caroline Piasecki’s ex-boyfriend posts their sex pictures on the Internet, it destroys her reputation as a nice college girl. Suddenly her once-promising future doesn’t look so bright. Caroline tries to make the pictures disappear, hoping time will bury her shame. Then a guy she barely knows rises to her defense and punches her ex to the ground.
West Leavitt is the last person Caroline needs in her life. Everyone knows he’s shady. Still, Caroline is drawn to his confidence and swagger—even after promising her dad she’ll keep her distance. On late, sleepless nights, Caroline starts wandering into the bakery where West works.
They hang out, they talk, they listen. Though Caroline and West tell each other they’re “just friends,” their feelings intensify until it becomes impossible to pretend. The more complicated her relationship with West gets, the harder Caroline has to struggle to discover what she wants for herself—and the easier it becomes to find the courage she needs to fight back against the people who would judge her.
When all seems lost, sometimes the only place to go is deeper.

I’ve always enjoyed reading paranormal books, but lately I find
myself drawn to books that depict real life. Its crazy since I read books to
get away from the norms of day to day, but there’s something about reading a
book about character’s who could be living next door to me. It’s about rooting
for the underdog, hoping that they get their HEA and being pulled into their
life as if it could be your own.
When I received the email to be part of Robin York’s Deeper
blog tour, I was excited. The blurb appealed to me and the cover is gorgeous so
of course I jumped on the chance. I. Was. Not. Disappointed. Well, maybe a
little but only because I need the next book. I need to know what happens
because here I am getting ready for work and I’m crying, ugly, and I need to
see what happens with West and Caroline.
I need to see that
Caroline nails that horrible ex of hers. I need
to see that West takes care of his family drama and that Frankie is ok. I need to see that taking a chance on love
like they did is going to be so much more than how this book ended. Don’t get
me wrong this book ended beautifully and if it was the final book, I could
completely understand it, but I’m greedy and definitely need more. So of course
I looked to see if there was going to be another book, and there IS!! So rest
assured my fabulous book junkies, after you read this amazing story, it’s not
the end, Caroline and West’s story continues in Harder. So. Can’t. Wait.
So what’s it about? I guess I should throw that in here
right? Caroline is off at college with the mindset of being a lawyer. She was
dating Nate and like some girls who are in love with their boyfriends, even if
they know its wrong, they allow pictures to be taken. Well Nate is a jerk and
after Caroline realizes that their relationship wasn’t what she thought it was,
she lets him go. Too bad he didn’t just suck it up like a normal person, he
decided to take matters into his own hands causing Caroline embarrassment. Part
of the reason of Caroline being able to let Nate go is because of the guy she
met on her first day on campus, West, he made her feel things she didn’t feel
with Nate.
West is a guy with a goal.
One that no one can get in the way of, until he meets Caroline. He’s
done a good job staying away from her but when things are said between him and
Nate, that all changes. He finds her outside his job one night and it changes
everything no matter how hard he tries to keep her at a distance. Sometimes the
heart wants what the heart wants. West is a dealer, a baker, and misunderstood.
He does things he’s not proud of because he has to. The last thing he expects
is to find someone he wants more than his dream of being a doctor.
Caroline and West find comfort in each other but something innocent
as making bread turns into more than they both thought it would. When feelings
and limbs collide is there going to be a way out? Can they make it through
everything life is going to throw at them? I sure as hell hope so because if
any one deserves it, they definitely do! Pick this book up if you haven’t
already!
Deeper was a book that had me from the get go. Caroline’s story is one that I did not think could happen to someone but it does. Her ex boy friend took a racy picture of her when they were together and when they broke up he spread it around the internet. FOR ALL the people at school see. So Caroline became withdrawn and hidden. She meets this guy West, before school starts and likes him right away….. but her dad told her to stay away from him. Why? Well I guess he is trouble. But really some people just say that. Caroline starts hanging out with West and they both say “they cant be friends and they aren’t friends”. You know what happens when two people say that and hang out all the time right? Well, both Caroline and West do become closer and you know West wants more, he is always touching her and trying to reassure her that she was not the girl everyone saw in the picture that was blasted. Both of them grow closer and the attraction is palpable. I loved it when they finally get together….but you know….. “They aren’t friends or anything”. ACK!! That part had me going … “COME ON!” But they both had growing to do. And with West’s stresses in life and Caroline’s they both have stuff to work through. The Roller Coaster ending has me wanting the next book and more every soon!!!
