Layla Flaherty had the perfect life, or close to it. Until a stranger gunned her parents down right in front of her, leaving her with seizure inducing PTSD. After years of trying to pass as normal and failing miserably, she resigns herself to being invisible. But new to town Landen O’Brien sees her, and he likes what he sees. Much to Layla’s surprise, he doesn’t freak out when she has a seizure in front of him. He does the exact opposite, calming her until the tremors subside. But Landen has secrets of his own. Secrets that both bind them together and tear them apart.
Scarred by loss, Layla leaves her hometown of Hope Springs, Georgia, hoping to put her painful past behind her and start over in college in California. When she runs into Landen at freshmen orientation, she has a choice to make. Reinforce those steel walls she's built up around herself or give the only boy who can keep her still a second chance.
Landen’s more than ready to tear down those walls but this time when they come crashing down, they might bury her.

I read this book as soon as I got my hands on it and absolutely fell in love with it. Not only the story itself but the message it provides to its readers, NEVER give up on anything, This is the first book I've read of Caisey Quinn and I'm so glad I did. This particular book has 2 novellas with it, so its really the best of the book world. I hate waiting to find out what happens next and was confused when the first part of the book ended, but was excited to read the next and then the next!
We're introduced to Layla first and I sort of felt like a kindred spirit, for different reasons though. She just started going back to high school after a public embarrassment that had her hiding, being home schooled. But she decided for her senior year she was going to face the world of high school again. Now we've all been to high school and it doesn't matter if its been months or years, once you're known for something embarrassing it stays around and never leaves. Well Layla takes it in stride by ghosting through it, until the day Landen makes an appearance. Landen is an army brat. Constantly moving wherever he has to go but that's not the only thing Landen has to deal with. He doesn't get attached because he doesn't believe in love. He doesn't believe in love because if you love someone you wouldn't allow them to be hurt would you? Until he sees Layla every preconceived notion of not wanting to get attached to someone evaporates and all he sees is her. So the first book takes us through Layla and Landen getting to know each other. It shows us how the fall in love and cross lines they both said they would never cross, until Landen secrete is spilled by a girl from his old town. My heart was devastated. But luckily I had the next book to save me!
So onto book 2! I suggest you plan on sitting down and reading this amazing story all at once! So after the heartbreak, Layla goes to college. The last thing she expects to see is Landen. Landen moved back, graduated, and went to college... with another secrete. Though his intentions are good, I can't believe he held it back as long as he did. Layla started remembering why she fell in love with him and their relationship progresses, but is inevitably pushed back again. *sigh* talk about frustration! When a few things go bad for Landen and his temper, he leaves. He goes overseas to Spain to play soccer like he always dreamed of. But sometimes dreams are only amazing when you have the person who completes you with you.
Book 3!!!!! By now my heart was in a blender. I didn't know what was going to happen but was thrilled with the finale! Seriously I was so worried between Layla's condition, Landen's anger issues and the fact that a new surprise was coming. EMOTIONAL WRECK, I needed to calm down and pace myself but of course I didn't! You really see the characters grow through out this book and though sometimes they take 2 steps forward and 4 steps back, the point is they kept going and never gave up on each other no matter how hard things got. Landen has to go into a rehabilitation center and Layla is on borrowed time. I was so worried that something bad was going to happen to her and Landen wasn't ever going to be the man I knew he was, but atlas HAPPILY EVER AFTER. Does my review suck? Possibly.... Does the book suck? HELL NO and you better go pick it up now to place your own judgement on it because it is totally and 100% worth it! You are going to fall in love with Layla and Landen. You're also going to take away the message of never giving up.
Caisey Quinn, I absolutely salute you in the dedication and research it must have took to get this book right. I know it wasn't easy and sometimes hard to write, but its a very moving piece of literature that I absolutely adore. So I applaud you with taking on not only 1 condition but 2 and writing it beautifully.

I really enjoyed Keep Me still by Casey Quinn. It inspires readers not to give up on life just because things are too hard. And when facing the possibility of dying at any moment from a seizure Layla , tries to live life to the fullest, or so she thinks she is.
The book starts with Layla in high school and she meets the new guy Landen. He’s moved there because his father is in the military. And Landen really likes Layla. I will say this book is so full of secrets from each other. Layla suffers through PTSD seizures from what happened to her parents and Landen doesn't tell her about his abusive dad. When they both find out about each other they hold on tight, keeping each other safe and still. When Landen is pulled back to Colorado what will that do to Layla. Well she’s hurt and mad when he leaves. Then the book starts back up and they are at college….. YEP The Same one! And they find each other again. AND even more secrets are hidden. What made Landen go to college where Layla is? And what is she not telling him. When all those come out can their still survive? AND What life throws at them is nothing short of heart stopping. Can they both get the happy ending they both deserve? Let me just say you wont want to put this down. The ride you go on with them is so intense that you don’t want to stop. It’s emotional and eye opening at the same time. Loved it!
