A small town boy.
A summer they'll never forget.
Spending the summer at her Grammy's in
Lilac Bay, Devon, is city girl Alexis 'Lexy' Edwards idea of hell.
That is, until she reconnects with her childhood friend, Jen, and
meets Alec Johnson.
Alec is the kind of guy Lexy knows she
needs to stay away from. He's the village flirt, ridiculously hot and
very dangerous to her self control. But there's a problem – she
can't seem to keep him out, even though she knows he'll break her
heart.
As Alec slowly strips away Lexy's defenses and the two embark on a summer romance she never wanted,
their feelings grow to more than either expected. But nothing lasts
forever, and reality intrudes.
As her world is shaken to it's core,
Lexy's self made prediction comes true when she discovers she's spent
six weeks surrounded by secrets. Kept out by her family and the only
guy she's ever trusted, she falls apart.
And when Grammy tells her that 'you
might not end up where you wanted to be, but you'll always end up
where you're meant to be,' she has to figure out if her meant to be
is back home in London, or if it's been in Devon the whole time.
*fans self* Thank
you Alec for sitting down with us today! Promise not to keep you long. I know
Lexy is waiting. I'm Christina with CBC’’s Naughty & Nice, Are you excited
for this interview?
Of course. Look who's
interviewing me. *wink* Oh MY!!
What was the first
thought that went through your mind when you heard Lexy was coming to stay with
Vi?
Honestly? I didn't
really care that much. My plan was to just surf the summer out, drink too much
and have a fair bit of sex. Lexy was never in the plan because she was Vi's
granddaughter.
So when you saw
her for the first time what was the first word that popped into your head?
Holy shit. Wait,
that's two words. That still counts, right? HAHA Yes that still counts!
Hanging out with
Jen and Carl, and them dating, did you always feel the odd man out?
Not really. In a
town like Lilac Bay, you're best friends with pretty much everyone. I've known
Jen and Carl since we were small. I always assumed they'd end up together. He
kinda soothes her crazy, which is a good thing.
What made you want
to prove yourself to Lexy so bad? Was it her or were you ready to be more
serious?
Both - I knew she
was different than the usual girls I hung out with. There was something about
her that made me wanna know her more, and when I did, I decided I was
definitely ready to be serious with her.
I must say, that
surfing lesson was hot. What was your favourite part of it?
Holding her up
against me, of course. That wetsuit was very revealing, after all. (I'd also
love to tell you it was her face when she fell off the board, but she's got a
good right hook.)
How did it feel to
bring Lexy to meet your mom? I mean that's a big deal to a guy right?
A massive deal.
I'd never taken a girl home, but like I said, I just knew she was it. That and
I knew Mum would tell her she was the first girl I'd taken home. That had to go
some way in convincing her I was serious, but I loved seeing her with Mum.
What is your
favorite memory, when it came to getting Lexy to fall in love with you? Okay
pick 2. And when did you know you were falling hard for her?
Really? Umm, okay,
crap. I guess its her birthday, on the beach at Ilfracombe - our first kiss.
Second is probably at the wedding when I sang to her. That sealed the deal, and
I can't even sing.
I knew I was
falling hard pretty much instantly. It's that sassy mouth. It's damn hot.
So Lexy's brother
Bing is quite the funny guy. What do you think of him? Did he intimidate you
with the 'big brother' talk?
Bing is.. Uh, how
to describe him without getting my legs broken? A lad, is probably all I can
say. And nah, he didn't intimidate me. I was waiting for it.
Was it hard for
you not to tell Lexy about Vi's condition?
In some ways yes.
I hated the fact she was so open with me yet I held that secret. But it wasn't
my secret to tell. In other ways it wasn't because I loved seeing her so happy.
I knew it would break her, and I didn't want to be the one who had to tell her
that.
When did you decide that you were going to follow Lexy to
school? And what solidified that
decision?
When we were having the 'if you could go anywhere' conversation
on the beach. My real answer would be if I could go anywhere, it would be
wherever she is. What solidified my decision? The fact – that for some crazy
reason – I'm head over damn heels in love with her.
All I can say is I am so happy for you guys and wish you the
best for the future. Thank you so much
for sitting down with me and answering a few questions. Tell Lexy Hi for me.
WOW that was an awesome interview! I hope you all read the book
and enjoy Alec as much as we did!
What can I say about Emma Hart? Well not
enough to cover and write a review at the same time. But I am privileged to know this awesome
British lovely! We became friends through a fun BOND. Haha yes a play on words
here. I was able to watch as Never
Forget came to form as she worked on it.
It was fun listening to her brainstorm and listening to her talk things
through. Emma has more talent in her
little finger than I have in my brain. I
really mean that. Her way of forming a
story and writing such beautiful scenes is, awe inspiring. I truly wish I was able to tell a story like
she has. Now let’s get down to Never
Forget.
As I beta read this story I was enthralled
instantly. It took me a day to read it
and I cried in a few places. Lexy is a
girl from London who has come to Devon to visit her grandmother “Grammy” for
the summer. She hasn’t been there for a
few years, and now at 17 she thinks this will be the most boring summer
ever. That is until she sees a cute boy
out the window. She is determined not to
get into a relationship with him or have any boy at all! But a friendship and
some flirting won’t hurt much at all right? Lexy reconnects with Jen, a real
firecracker of a friend she knew from her recent stays with Grammy. Jen’s boyfriend is best friends with this BOY
(name coming really). So Lexy is pretty
much around him all the time. Yes, yes,
this boy has a name I am getting to that.
ALEC…… Wow what can I say about Alec? He is known as a player and is not serious
when it comes to girls. He has been helping out Lexy’s Grammy with some yard
work and happens to be there the day she arrives. Coincidence much? Lexy gets to go to the beach and hang out
with Jen and yes, Alec is there too.
There are many instances where they are all in a group. Let’s just say they BOTH feel the attraction.
And they way Emma writes this, well I felt it too. Who wouldn’t be attracted to
this description: “He leans against his surfboard and flicks his hair out of
his eyes, grinning”. Surfer boy, yep,
he’s a cutie. Plus HE HAS DIMPLES!!!
*waits for all the girls to stop swooning*.
Let me just tell you the conversations between Lexy and Alec have me all
swoony and tension filled. Sometimes I
was like KISS ALREADY!!! (It happens, eventually) I want to tell you all
but seriously I would rob you of the chance to experience it for yourself. Wait
till you hear WHY Alec calls Lexy a princess.
YOU WILL SWOON. Alec is bound and determined to get Lexy to trust him
and to fall for him. He has his work cut
out for him because she is determined not to just have a summer romance. Can he do it?
Pshhhhhh I know he can. Every
touch they have and every conversation is like fire on the page!
MY ABSOULTE FAVORITE SCENE is when Alec
takes Lexy Surfing. Let’s say the conversation they have is….. Ya…. *faints* Oh
sorry I was remembering the absolute best part in the book! So before I tell you the WHOLE book, Alec
plans something special for Lexy’s birthday and it is still swoon worthy. OH have you gotten my point yet? 1. Alec is
swoon worthy and 2. HE HAS DIMPLES. And
the sexy scene between them should melt your E-reader! Alec is bound and determined to follow Lexy
anywhere. THIS is IT for him. *collective awww*
The cast of Characters in this book just
makes you want to go to Lilac Bay and hang with everyone. Bing, Lexy’s brother is not only hilariously
annoying at times, but he sounds like a total hottie in his own right. Jen, well Jen is how I picture Emma sometimes,
or myself. Okay you will see sometimes we all have a little Jen in us. Carl is sweet. Grammy, now who wouldn’t LOVE this
lady?!! She hangs BING’s UNDERWEAR up
for the town to see. She’s hilarious.
Get the tissues towards the end though…. Grammy
is ill. Not only does Lexy’s Family not
tell her, Alec knows. Grammy asked him
NOT to say. What is wrong with her? And Can Lexy get past this and understand and
remember how much Alec loves her? Will her broken heart be mended? Grammy talks
with her. I love her. She is a WISE WISE
woman! Get those tissues, because
seriously you will need them. But know, It’s all okay *winks*
Emma Hart has written a hot, sexy,
emotional filled book that will keep you captivated from the start to the
finish. You won’t want to leave Lilac
Bay. In fact I have gone back a few more
times. I recommend you go get Never
Forget. You Definitely WON’T forget
these characters anytime soon.
